KBR regrets to confirm the death of Kenneth Fannin, a KBR employee who
was killed when the truck he was driving was struck by an improvised
explosive device on Saturday, February 11, 2006, on a highway in western
Baghdad, Iraq. Fannin, age 42, had been a truck driver on KBR's LOGCAP
project in support of the U.S. military since December 2004.
This is a very difficult time for all of us at Halliburton, and we
extend our sincere condolences to Mr. Fannin's family and loved ones. To
protect their privacy, we will not be releasing any additional
information at this time.
KBR's top priority is the safety and security of all personnel,
especially those working in such dangerous, hostile and challenging
environments. To date, 82 KBR employees and subcontractors have lost
their lives while performing services under the company's US government
contracts in Afghanistan, Iraq and Kuwait.
